Your Words Are Seeds—What Are You Planting?

There are days when everything feels off from the moment you wake up. You anticipate chaos before it even happens. Today was one of those days for me.
I almost said it out loud:
“This day is going to be a mess...a total you-know-what show.”
But I caught myself.
I recently saw a video from a clinical psychologist who said:
“The words coming out of your mouth are what you are giving of yourself.”
That stopped me in my tracks. Because I believe in the power of words. I’ve seen how what we say can shape how we show up. And today, I refused to give chaos my voice.
Not long after that, a colleague came by my office and asked me a brave question:
“How do you think I’m being perceived? I’ve been withdrawing a lot lately.”
I looked at her and said something I believe deeply:“Withdrawing from chaos is not failure—it’s protection. It’s how you honor your peace.”
We talked. Really talked. About the invisible stress we carry. About how health issues, family obligations, and life transitions rarely stop just because we walked into a workplace. And how, when you’re trying to hold it together, sometimes silence is your survival.
Here’s what I know to be true:
You don’t have to engage the chaos to prove you care.
You don’t need to be loud to be powerful.
You don’t need to stay visible to be valuable.
You just need to be aligned—with your values, your peace, and your truth.
This world, especially the workplace, will try to convince you that stepping back is giving up. But protecting your energy, choosing your words intentionally, and refusing to let stress speak for you? That’s leadership. That’s growth.
So here’s what I’m choosing today:
🌱 Grace over guilt🌱 Quiet strength over reactive noise🌱 Words that plant peace, not panic
Let this be your gentle reminder:You don’t owe the world chaos. You owe yourself care.
Speak power. Speak purpose. Speak peace. Because your words aren’t just sound—they’re seeds. And what you plant today will grow tomorrow.
